Mogalakwena Municipality warns against illegal dumping
The Mogalakwena Local Municipality has raised serious concern over the continued practice of the residents of Mokopane, Limpopo, dumping waste next to municipal bins instead of placing it inside them, even when the bins are available and accessible.
Municipal officials say the behaviour is unacceptable and poses significant risks to public health and the environment.

According to the municipality, waste left on the ground creates breeding grounds for rats, flies and other pests, produces unpleasant odours in residential areas, and exposes children and the elderly to unsafe conditions.
It also contributes to environmental pollution and undermines efforts to maintain a clean and dignified community.
The municipality mayor, Cllr Ngoako Taueatsoala has called on residents to take responsibility for their surroundings.

“We cannot allow careless dumping to put the health of our people at risk. A clean environment reflects who we are as a community. I call upon every resident to act responsibly and ensure that waste is disposed of properly. Let us work together to keep Mogalakwena clean and safe,” mayor Taueatsoala said.
Residents are reminded that non-compliance may result in enforcement action in line with municipal by-laws.
