Shynebright U19 tournament gets underway in Mafefe
Residents of Mafefe Village in Limpopo were spoiled with some Good Friday action on the first day of the Inaugural Shynebright Entertainment U19 tournament at the Sports Complex. The tournament was launched in February this year in Polokwane.
It is a grassroots sports initiative aimed at nurturing young talent and fostering community engagement through competitive sports in Mafefe Village and its surroundings.
So far, the tournament has attracted 16 teams from the Village. The local teams are fighting for the ultimate prize and a place in the final that will be played on Sunday, 27 April.

Amajita head coach Raymond Mdaka was among some football personnel who graced the first day. Mdaka is set to jet off to Egypt with the U20 national team ahead of the AFCON.
Addressing the fans and dignitaries at the stadium, Mdaka commended the organisers for the initiative.
“It’s very encouraging to see a tournament of this nature where it’s more of a development,” Mdaka said.

“The opportunity is there [to discover talent], we really appreciate this kind of initiative.”
“Look, the national team is for any player who is South African. So they might not be in the national team right now but it’s something that is possible. So that’s why we did not hesitate when we got the invitation.”
Kgoshi Maafeefee Thobejane also addressed the masses at the stadium, joining Mdaka in commending the initiative. Thobejane also encouraged the tournament organizers to work closely with the Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality to make it even better next year.
