Six people killed in Seshego taxi accident
A serious accident involving two taxi minibuses resulted in the death of six people on the D19 road next to Seshego cross, Limpopo on Tuesday, 03 March 2026. The accident occurred at approximately 16:25.
Preliminary reports indicate that one of the minibuses was attempting to overtake while facing oncoming vehicles, resulting in a collision.

The deceased are three males and three females. Two people suffered serious injuries, while four suffered minor injuries.
The road has been closed to traffic as emergency services and traffic officers respond to the scene. Traffic officers are on-site, managing traffic flow and redirecting motorists to alternative routes.

Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes:
– For traffic from Polokwane: Use Extension 76 to access D19 at Seshego cross.
– For traffic from Matlala road: Use Seshego cross to access D19 at Extension 76.
“We urge drivers to exercise caution and avoid the D19 road near the Seshego cross until further notice. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” said the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety.
