Three people killed in N1 Limpopo accident
Three Male passengers between the ages of 40 and 51 were killed following a fatal accident on the N1 between Beylsteel and Waterskeil, Capricorn District in Limpopo on Monday at approximately 06:45.
A Hyundai vehicle collided with the rear of a VW Polo, resulting in fatalities and injuries. The three passengers who were all in the VW Polo, are deceased.

One is seriously injured, and one is critically injured, while the two drivers have minor injuries. The possible cause of the accident is suspected to be speeding.
Meanwhile, the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety has impounded 20 vehicles, including 13 minibuses, 2 midi buses, 3 light delivery vehicles, and 2 seven-seaters, for transporting learners for reward without permits on the R71 and D4040 Molepo turn-off near Boyne.

These vehicles were found to be operating illegally, putting the lives of learners at risk. One minibus was identified as a cross-border malayisha attempting to evade authorities.
“We urge parents to take responsibility for their children’s safety and ensure they use authorized and safe transport to schools,” said the Department.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts to enforce transport regulations and protect learners. Parents are encouraged to report any concerns about learner transportation to the relevant authorities.
