Limpopo police step up enforcement ahead of busy Easter period
As thousands of people prepare to travel and celebrate the Easter holidays, Limpopo Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has assured residents and visitors that the South African Police Service [SAPS] is fully prepared to ensure a safe and secure Easter Season.
Huge traffic volumes are expected on Limpopo roads during the upcoming Easter weekend, as members of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) and St Engenas ZCC head to Moria.
SAPS has put comprehensive operational measures in place across all districts. These include intensified high-visibility patrols, roadblocks, stop-and-search operations, and targeted crackdowns on serious and violent crimes such as murder, robbery, and gender-based violence and femicide [GBVF].

A multi-disciplinary approach brings Crime Intelligence, Detectives, Public Order Policing, and Traffic Authorities together to strengthen crime prevention and ensure swift responses to incidents.
Communities are also encouraged to play an active role by reporting suspicious activities and working hand-in-hand with the police to keep neighbourhoods safe.
“A safer Easter season requires all of us. Let us also act responsibly and work together to ensure a peaceful and incident-free holiday,” added Lieutenant General Hadebe.
