Motorists warned to renew licences ahead of Easter Travel
Motorists who intend to travel over the Easter long weekend are advised to check the validity of their vehicle licence discs and driving licence cards now and renew them to avoid delays and embarrassment later.
This comes as information on the Natis system indicates that hundreds of thousands of vehicle licence discs and driving licence cards will be expiring at the end of March.

The system indicates that 700 399 vehicle licence discs and driving licence cards will be expiring at the end of March and will need to be renewed.
This will affect 259 563 vehicles in Gauteng. Western Cape [116 633], KZN [98 735], Mpumalanga [51 198], Limpopo [45 240], Eastern Cape [44 840], North West [36 335], Free State [31 964] and Northern Cape [15 891].

A total of 128 080 driving licence cards will be expiring in the same period and need to be renewed. This will affect 44 142 drivers in Gauteng, KZN [20 188], Western Cape [17 108], Mpumalanga [12 515], Limpopo [11 831], Eastern Cape [8 404], North West [6 187], Free State [5471] and Northern Cape [2 234].
“Motorists who value convenience can renew their vehicle licence discs from the comfort of their home or office by using the online.natis.gov.za,” said Road Traffic Management Corporation spokesperson Simon Zwane.
“The disc will be delivered with three to five working days. More than 6 million vehicle licence discs have been processed through this platform since it became available in 2022.”
