Woman gang-raped near graveyard in Phiphidi

A woman [24] was gang-raped, while her boyfriend was held at knifepoint, near a graveyard in Phiphidi Village, Vhembe District, Limpopo on Saturday, 28 March.

It is said the woman was walking with her partner when they encountered a group of men near the graveyard.

The suspects were reportedly armed with bottles and knives and allegedly demanded money. When the couple said they had none, the woman was forcibly taken and raped by three of the suspects. Her boyfriend was held at knifepoint and stabbed during the incident.

The attack continued inside the graveyard before the suspects fled the scene. A manhunt has been launched by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences [FCS] Unit in Thohoyandou.
