Stepdaughter arrested for murder of Limpopo businessman
A stepdaughter, alleged hitman and two suspects have been arrested for the murder of a well-known businessman from Makhuva Village, Giyani in Limpopo.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, 19 November 2024, at about 17:00, when the businessman was shot multiple times and killed on the Mbawula main road by an unknown man and a woman who had pretended to be customers seeking to buy building sand.

The investigations revealed that the victim’s stepdaughter had allegedly hired a hitman to kill her stepfather, paying an agreed fee, for the planned murder.
During an operation conducted on Saturday, 23 November 2025, at approximately 03:00am, Limpopo Police followed leads to Polokwane, where the stepdaughter was arrested for orchestrating the murder.
The suspected hitman was already in custody for unrelated rape and Lulekani murder cases and was positively linked to murder.

Both suspects are expected to appear before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 24 November 2025, facing charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised the teams involved in the operation resulting in the arrests. Police investigations are ongoing, and more arrests are expected.
