Limpopo cop in court for alleged murder of brother-in-law
A Limpopo police officer appears briefly in the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court following the fatal shooting of her brother-in-law. Sergeant Salome Kgoroba, 49, faces a charge of murder the tragic incident that unfolds at her home in the early hours of Sunday, 16 November 2025.
According to preliminary investigations, Kgoroba is asleep when she allegedly hears someone opening her door at around 02:00.

Believing that an intruder is entering the house, she reportedly fires several shots toward the door in an attempt to protect herself.
When she goes to inspect what happened, she discovers that the person she has shot is her 31-year-old brother-in-law.
Realizing the seriousness of the situation, she immediately transports him to Philadelphia Hospital for medical attention. Despite her urgent efforts, he dies from his injuries while receiving treatment.
The matter brings shock within the community, especially as the incident involves a serving police officer and a family member.
