Human remains were discovered In Chebeng village

Police in Limpopo have opened an inquest docket following the discovery of a human skull sticking out from the ground in Chebeng Village, Limpopo.

The discovery was made at approximately 8:00 on Thursday, October 31, 2025, and the police were formally notified of the situation at approximately 15:00 on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

According to reports, the police immediately went straight to the scene after receiving information of human remains discovered nearby.

As soon as they arrived at the scene, they witnessed what looked like a human skull sticking out of the earth.

After further investigations that were made, shallow grave was located, and the remaining skeleton remains were discovered inside a plastic bag. The body was already beyond recognition.

The remains will be subjected to forensic analysis to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death. Police investigations are continuing.
