Municipality confirms discoloured water, supply disrupted
The Modimolle-Mokgoopong Local Municipality in Limpopo, has announced a temporary water supply interruption in the Mookgopong area due to increased turbidity levels in raw water caused by recent rainfall.
According to the municipality, the heavy rains led to elevated turbidity levels in the water, resulting in the discolouration.

As a precautionary measure, the municipality has temporarily suspended water distribution from the Mookgopong Water Treatment Plant. Officials say this step is necessary to prevent potentially unsafe water from reaching households and to ensure that only clean water is supplied to the community.
Technical teams are currently working to stabilise the treatment process and restore water quality to acceptable standards.

The municipality has apologised for the inconvenience and urged residents to remain patient while efforts to resolve the issue continue.
Water supply will be reinstated once quality standards have been fully met.
