Limpopo Impala Cricket officially launches its new season
The Limpopo Impala Cricket officially launched their 2025/26 Season at the Polokwane Cricket Club on Friday evening.
It was attended by, among others, Limpopo Impala Cricket board members, coaches, players from both the Men’s and Women’s teams, and members of the media.
The launch follows the new domestic cricket season launched by Cricket South Africa earlier this month.

The men’s domestic season commences with the 4-Day Domestic Series on 25 September as both the men’s Division 1 and Division 2 red ball competitions get underway.
The 4-Day Series then comes to an end at the end of February before the 1-Day Cup kicks into gear after that, with the 50-over competition winding up the season with the final on 29 March.
Limpopo Impalas will begin their campaign with an away fixture against Eastern Storm from Thursday, 25 to Sunday, 28 September at Willowmoore Park Stadium in Benoni, Gauteng.

The Impalas have also roped in seasoned coach Gurshwin Rabie to take charge of the men’s senior team as of 1 August 2025. He takes over from Gordon Parsons, who led the team for the past two years.
Rabie has outlined what will be a key part of his success with the team during his tenure in Limpopo.
“I definitely think there is a vast amount of potential in the province,” Rabie told Limpopo Chronicle at the launch.
“The talent and the ability that I have seen from some of the players, especially the players that came through the pipeline here in Limpopo Impala Cricket, have been very fascinating and eye-opening for me.
How we manage and nurture that talent is going to be a key part of my success as the coach of the Men’s team,” he added.
“But also a key component of what I am trying to do as the head coach of the Limpopo Impalas is to make sure that I look after the development of players within the region to ensure the continued success of the Limpopo Impala Men’s team going forward.”
