Gauta Mahlakoane, Karabo Mokoo and Maxwell Ndou achieved an incredible 13-day journey that garnered attention from South Africans. It is said that the trio raised around R600 000 through sponsorships and donations.
President Cyril Ramaphosa also issued a congratulatory message to the boys following their epic achievement. The Limpopo government also went on to arrange a homecoming event in Burgersfort.

But the group has now split after one of the group members, Gauta Mahlakoane, decided to go solo and registered the GautaBMX business under his name.
In a video on his social media platforms, Mahlakoane defended the decision to register the GautaBMX business solely in his name, claiming that Mokoo and Ndou are spreading false stories because they spent their money on cars.
Mahlakoane is said to have established a bicycle shop in his home town. The trio had started to attract sponsors for their future projects, but the rift has reportedly caused some of the sponsors to pull out.
