The Maruleng Local Municipality has been named the Most Media-Profiled Municipality in South Africa at the prestigious South African Local Government Association (SALGA) National Communicators’ Awards, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
The award recognises municipalities that excel in strategic communication, media engagement, transparency, and the proactive sharing of information with communities and stakeholders.
Receiving the accolade, Mayor Cllr Tsheko Musolwa said the recognition reflects the municipality’s strong commitment to accountability and open governance.
He emphasised that communication plays a central role in effective service delivery and community development.
