Vehicle spiking alert on N1 between Polokwane and Pretoria
Motorists travelling along the N1 between Polokwane, Limpopo and Pretoria have been urged to exercise extreme caution following multiple vehicle spiking incidents reported early Tuesday morning.
According to LiveTraffic NPC, the incidents were recorded at approximately 06:00, affecting both the northbound and southbound lanes between the Carousel Plaza and Maubane.

At least four vehicles have been confirmed to have been spiked. Law enforcement officers are currently on the scene assisting affected motorists, including helping with tyre changes.
In a related incident, one vehicle reportedly struck rocks placed on the roadway, damaging the rims. Authorities are actively searching for the driver, who is believed to have left the vehicle and fled into nearby bushes.

Further reports indicate that large rocks have been deliberately placed across lanes in the Hammanskraal area, posing a serious hazard to road users.
**PUBLIC NOTICE**

Authorities have urged motorists not to stop immediately if they suspect their vehicle has been spiked or has struck debris. Instead, drivers are advised to continue moving, if possible until they reach a safer, well-lit area such as a petrol station or toll plaza.
Motorists are also encouraged to remain vigilant, maintain safe following distances, and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
