Vehicles stolen during a robbery at a filling station in Thohoyandou
A customer was shot while several vehicles belonging to customers and an employee were hijacked following a business robbery at a filling station at Ha-Budeli, Vhembe in Limpopo in the early hours of Monday, 06 April 2026.
It is reported that at approximately 02:30, a group of about ten unknown male suspects speaking Tshivenda and Sepedi, all armed with firearms, entered the Filling Station.
The suspects ordered employees and customers to cooperate before proceeding to the store, where they forced open a safe and stole undisclosed amount of cash.

During the incident, several vehicles belonging to customers and an employee were hijacked. Some of the stolen vehicles were later recovered after being abandoned in different areas.
The recovered vehicles include a blue Ford Raptor, a black Polo sedan, and a white Ford Ranger Wildtrak.
The following vehicles are still outstanding: a white Polo GTI and a Ford Figo, for which registration numbers are currently unknown.
A male customer was shot during the hijacking incident and is currently receiving medical treatment in hospital.

Police have since launched a full-scale manhunt for the suspects. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects communicated in Tshivenda and Sepedi during the commission of the crime.
The Provincial Commissioner has strongly condemned the incident and directed that all available resources be mobilised to ensure the swift arrest of those responsible.
