Limpopo artist’s artwork getting recognition worldwide
A 30-year-old artist, Pilato Bulala, from Ha-Mashamba, Vhembe in Limpopo, is turning ordinary scrap materials into extraordinary works of art, attracting customers from as far as Europe.
Bulala developed an interest in art while still in high school, where he actively participated in arts and culture competitions. His unique designs quickly stood out, with teachers and competition judges often purchasing his creations after each event.

Since launching his business, Bulala has welcomed visitors from countries including Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
“I collect scrap and turn it into art. Sometimes people book for an experience, so I prepare a table, provide gloves, and teach tourists how to create sculptures,” he told Limpopo Chronicle.
Bulala says his ultimate dream is to see his work exhibited in museums and lodges across South Africa. He can be contacted on 072 343 1202.
