Conjoined twins delivered at Mankweng Hospital
A 29-year-old woman has given birth to a set of male conjoined twins at Mankweng Tertiary Hospital in Limpopo on Wednesday, 28 January 2026.
The mother was initially receiving care at Maputha Malatjie Hospital but was referred to Mankweng after complications arose during labour.

Medical staff detected that she was carrying conjoined twins, prompting an urgent transfer to the tertiary facility for specialised care and delivery.
The twins were successfully delivered and are currently in a stable condition. They are receiving close monitoring and treatment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where a multidisciplinary team is providing support.
Preliminary medical assessments indicate that the babies are joined at the abdomen.

Specialists, including neonatologists and paediatric surgeons, are conducting further evaluations to better understand the anatomy and determine the most appropriate management plan moving forward.
Hospital officials have confirmed that the mother is also in good health and remains under the care of relevant specialists as she recovers from the delivery.
