Woman gives birth, dumps newborn in a toilet at Capricorn TVET
A newborn baby was found abandoned inside a toilet bin at Capricorn TVET College’s Seshego Campus in Limpopo on Friday.
According to preliminary reports, a young woman allegedly gave birth on campus before disposing of the infant in a toilet.
Cleaners made a shocking discovery while performing their routine duties, noticing traces of blood, and immediately alerted campus authorities.

In a statement, the institution confirmed that the baby is receiving medical care and is under the supervision of qualified health professionals.
The college added that investigations are underway to determine the identity of the woman involved and whether she is a student at the institution.
“We urge all students, staff and members of the community to treat this matter with the utmost sensitivity and compassion,” said the institution in a statement.

“We strongly discourage the circulation or sharing of any videos or images related to this incident, as it violates the dignity and privacy of those affected.
“As the matter is currently under the care of health professionals and legal authorities, the College will not be granting media interviews or making further public comments at this time,” they said.
“We kindly request that this position be respected to allow the appropriate processes to unfold with dignity and care.
“We remain committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our students and staff. Anyone affected by this incident and in need of support is encouraged to access the College’s counselling and wellness services.”
