Man arrested for raping his niece in Dennilton
A 52-year-old man has been arrested in Dennilton, Limpopo, in connection with the alleged rape of his 39-year-old niece in Ntoane village.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Moutse Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, to face a charge of rape. The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday evening.

According to police, the complainant was walking home when she met her uncle, who requested that she accompany him to a nearby tavern. After spending time drinking, the two reportedly left the tavern together to return home.
During the walk, the suspect allegedly became aggressive and assaulted the woman before raping her at the side of the road.
After the incident, the suspect is said to have fled the scene, leaving the victim behind. The woman later reported the matter to the police, prompting the opening of a rape case at Dennilton Police Station.

Members of the Crime Prevention Unit immediately launched a search operation, which resulted in the suspect’s arrest later that same night.
Police have condemned the incident and urged community members to report cases of gender-based violence. Investigations are continuing.
