Limpopo man sought by police for attempted rape of his mother
Tzaneen Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences are searching for a 36-year-old man in connection with the attempted rape of his 57-year-old mother at Motupa village, outside Tzaneen in Limpopo.
The incident occurred on Thursday, 15 January 2026, after the mother was asleep in her bedroom when she felt someone covering her mouth with a cloth. She then suddenly discovered it was her son attempting to rape her.

She then attempted to call her mother [the accused grandmother] who was sleeping on the separate house, but was unsuccessful as he put a cloth in her mouth in order to silence her.

She fortunately managed to run to her mother’s house and informed her about the incident. However, the son managed to flee from the scene and has been on the run since.
