Girl [11] raped by 54-year-old neighbour

A 54-year-old man will appear before the Nkowankowa Magistrate’s Court, Limpopo on Friday for allegedly raping his 11-year-old neighbour.

The incident occurred on Monday, March 31, 2025, when the victim and her friend visited the suspect’s homestead to watch movies as usual.

The children slept over, and in the morning, the suspect allegedly sent the friend to the shops and then raped the victim.

The victim reported the incident to her mother, and a case of rape was opened at the local police station before being transferred to the Tzaneen Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit. He was arrested on Wednesday, 02 April 2025.

A MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR RAPING A NEIGHBOUR IN NKOWANKOWA

Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has strongly condemned the prevalent rape cases involving minors in the province.

Hadebe emphasized that the police will not tolerate such heinous crimes against children. She also urged parents and guardians to be more vigilant when it comes to the safety and well-being of their children.

She also stressed that cases of similar nature will be investigated thoroughly, and perpetrators will be brought to book to face the full might of the law.
