Moagi was one of the nine SANDF soldiers who tragically lost their lives during a clash with M23 rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Moagi hails from Sekororo village and was deployed to the DRC in support of peacekeeping efforts.

He joined the SANDF in January 2018 and the last time he saw his family was in January 2024. He left behind his partner, Priscilla Ledimo and daughter, Louisa.
The Municipality has now confirmed that the construction of Calvin Louis Moagi Sports Complex is now at 85% percent practical completion.
