More scholar transport vehicles impounded in Limpopo
The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety has intensified its efforts to ensure the safety of schoolchildren, impounding 17 scholar transport vehicles in the Moletjie-Magodu area, Capricorn District, on Tuesday morning, 3 February 2026.
The vehicles, including bakkies, seven-seaters and minibuses, were removed from the roads after failing to comply with scholar transport safety regulations and operating without the required permits.

Department officials said the operation forms part of ongoing road safety campaigns aimed at protecting learners who rely on daily transport to and from school.
Authorities stressed that although they understand the challenges faced by transport operators trying to make a living, the safety of children must always remain the top priority.
The impounded vehicles were taken to Polokwane Station, creating what the department described as a “queue of shame,” serving as a strong reminder that every child deserves a safe, legal and reliable ride to school.
