Man killed in a mob justice attack at Nobody Thakgalang
Police in Limpopo have arrested five male suspects following a mob justice incident that led to the death of a 29-year-old man at Nobody Thakgalang in Mankweng.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at approximately 00:05.
According to police reports, the deceased was accused by community members of having previously broken into a house in the area.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a group of residents allegedly pursued the man, tracked him down in Polokwane town, and forcibly brought him back to Nobody Thakgalang.
Upon his return, it is alleged that the man was assaulted while being questioned about stolen property.
Police were summoned to the scene and found the victim seated outside a house. He was reportedly wearing wet clothes, unable to speak, and had visible injuries.

Emergency Medical Services were called, but the man was certified dead upon arrival.
Through swift investigative work, police arrested five male suspects aged between 23 and 54 in connection with the incident.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 29 January 2026, facing charges of murder.
