Mogalakwena Municipality shuts down Hungry Lion

Mogalakwena Local Municipality in the Waterberg district, Limpopo, has taken decisive action against a Hungry Lion outlet in Mokopane, found operating without the required authorization for occupation.

The business was closed for failing to comply with municipal regulations governing lawful occupation of premises.

Municipal officials say the move underscores their commitment to enforcing by-laws fairly and consistently. No business, regardless of brand or popularity, is above the law.

The municipality has warned other operators to ensure all documentation is in order to avoid similar action. The municipality says the message is clear, “compliance isn’t optional, even the Lion must follow the law”.
