ZCC employee killed in workplace accident
The Zion Christian Church (ZCC) has confirmed the death of 53-year-old employee Alex Nenguzo, who was fatally injured in a workplace accident at the Boyne Filling Station on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.
According to a statement by the church, Nenguzo had just finished balancing a truck’s wheels when he was struck by the vehicle’s trailer. Limpopo Emergency services responded, but he was declared dead at the scene.

Police have opened an investigation, and the Church says it is cooperating fully. It has requested privacy for the bereaved family and will continue providing pastoral support.
The Church has expressed its deep condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the wider congregation, describing his passing as a significant loss to the ZCC community.
“The Zion Christian Church leadership is profoundly grieved by this loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to Mr. Nenguza’s family, next of kin, friends, and the broader Church congregation,” said ZCC Spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe.

“His passing is not only a personal loss to those who knew and loved him, but also a significant loss to the Church community, where he served with diligence and humility.
“We are cooperating fully with the South African Police Service, who have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. As such, we will refrain from further comment until the official findings are released.
“We ask that the public and media respect the privacy of the family during this time of mourning. The Church will continue to provide pastoral and emotional support to the bereaved family and all affected colleagues.”
