Man arrested for alleged rape at Zaaiplaas Tavern

Police in Zaaiplaas, in Limpopo, have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with an alleged rape incident that took place at a local tavern in the early hours of Sunday, 2 November 2025.

According to police reports, a 27-year-old woman was at a tavern in Zaaiplaas when the suspect allegedly grabbed her, pushed her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her.

The victim was later taken to a nearby hospital, where she received medical attention and underwent a medical examination. Police subsequently opened a case of sexual assault and swiftly arrested the suspect.

The 29-year-old man is expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon, facing a charge of sexual assault.

Police have confirmed that investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
