One person arrested for murder at popular PSD tournament
Limpopo Police have confirmed the arrest of a 19-year-old male suspect following a murder incident at the Polokwane Social Derby [PSD] at Seshego Ground B in Zone 1 on Saturday.
Thugs reportedly targeted the soccer tournament, stabbing people with knives. According to reports, the suspects were part of a group of more than 40 people, mostly armed with knives.

The group is believed to be from Seshego Zone 5 near Moletji and allegedly gained entry without paying for tickets.
Unfortunately, one person was confirmed dead while others sustained injuries. The deceased was later identified by his mother as Tinashe Lebogang Maruma [22] of Seshego Zone 01. He had sustained stab wounds to the chest.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, who was working as a bouncer at the stadium, was attacked and stabbed while on duty.
A swift follow-up operation by the police, with assistance from the community, led to the arrest of the suspect at Seshego Zone 05.
The suspect will appear before the Seshego District Court on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, facing a charge of murder.
