Limpopo man accused of chopping mother to death abandons bail
Lesiba David Ledwaba from Sebora village, Limpopo, accused of killing his mother [87], whose dismembered body parts were discovered inside plastic buckets, abandoned his bail application on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old made his second appearance at the Seshego Magistrates’ Court, Capricorn, facing a charge of murder.

It is alleged that on 25 June 2025, the accused murdered his mother and dismembered her body. A neighbour, who had not seen the elderly woman for more than two days, reported her missing.
On 28 June 2025, police visited the deceased’s homestead, where they discovered her dismembered remains concealed in plastic buckets.
Items like knives and pangas are believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, and were also recovered from the scene.

The accused was arrested shortly thereafter. He made his first court appearance on 30 June 2025. The case was postponed to [Wednesday] 09 July 2025 for a bail application while he remained in custody.
Today, the accused was expected to proceed with his bail; however, he abandoned his bail application. The matter is postponed to 07 October 2025 for further investigations.
