Khaiso Secondary School and Tshiawelo Secondary School will represent Limpopo at this year’s DStv Schools Netball Challenge national finals.
The clinics are aimed at inspiring the young Netball players and exposing them to professional players ahead of the national finals. The clinics are a partnership between the leading German sports apparel company, Puma, and Multichoice.
“The most exciting thing about the DStv Netball challenge is seeing the girls being hyped up. Firstly, by their role models,” said Msomi.

“It’s good to see brands like Puma and DStv coming on board. To not only support those who have bit also those who don’t have as well.
“When you coach them, you can see the faces of passionate up-and-coming young athletes. So that’s for me has been an exciting thing,” added Msomi, who retired from netball in 2023.
The 37-year-old who led the Proteas in their home Netball World Cup, retired on 171 caps, ending as South Africa’s most-capped netball player of all time.

Meanwhile, Maseko, who is still part of the Proteas side, says the clinics take her back memory lane from her humble beginnings.
“For me, it has been such a humbling experience to just think that this is also where I started growing up in the Township of Soweto,” she said.

“So for me, it is a humbling experience to know that I was also in a position where someone had to believe in me and instil the belief in me.
I am just humbled to be in that position where I can instil hope in someone else and just to pass down some knowledge.”
The national finals will take place at the Hoërskool Dr. E.G. Jansen in Boksburg, Gauteng, from 25 to 26 July.
