Serious accident reported on the N1 Pienaars River
There is reportedly a serious accident on the N1 South Pienaars River in Limpopo involving three trucks. A fuel tanker is on fire.
Four people reportedly died while nine others were injured after a fuel tanker crashed into a stationary bus.

The Bus was travelling from Malawi to Gauteng on Monday. The accident is said to have occurred around 06:50 in the Waterberg District.

WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT ON THE N1 NEAR PIENAARS RIVER ON MONDAY?
Department of Transport in Limpopo spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene says the bus had reportedly run out of fuel and was parked on the side of the road, between the yellow line and the barrier, with a trailer attached.
Some passengers were allegedly relieving themselves next to the barrier when the fuel tanker truck struck the bus from behind, leading to the tragic loss of life.
The department has also extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the four people who passed away.
“The department will work with relevant law enforcement agencies to ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted and those responsible for the accident are held accountable. We appeal to motorists to exercise extreme caution and patience on our roads, especially during peak travel periods.”
