Police constable arrested for drug dealing on N1 Limpopo
A 44-year-old police constable from Silverton Detectives Component in Gauteng was arrested on Wednesday along the N1 South outside Polokwane, Limpopo.
He was found in possession of 2,095 sachets of Nyaope worth approximately R85,000 and was driving a suspected stolen Nissan NP200 with Gauteng registration plates.

The vehicle was intercepted near Shell Ultra City during an intelligence-driven operation by the Provincial Anti-Smuggling Unit and Tshimollo private security. His service pistol was also confiscated.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has commended the swift arrest. Lieutenant General Hadebe has issued a stern warning that any police officer who chooses to break the law will face severe consequences. The arrest of this officer should send a clear warning that no one is above the law.
The suspect was detained at SAPS Westenburg and will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 20th March 2025, facing charges of dealing in drugs and possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
