Dagma Mamanyoha appointed Mayor of Mopani
Former Mayor of Greater Letaba, Dagma Mamanyoha has been elected as the new Executive Mayor of the Mopani District Municipality.
His appointment follows the resignation of former Executive Mayor Pule Shayi, who recently assumed responsibilities as a Member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature and MEC of Coghsta.
Mamanyoha brings extensive experience in local government, governance, public administration and community development.

In his acceptance address, the Executive Mayor expressed his appreciation for the confidence entrusted in him and pledged to undertake the responsibilities of the office with the best of his ability.
He further acknowledged the contribution of former Executive Mayor Pule Shayi, recognising his service and leadership during his tenure at Mopani District Municipality.

In the interest of ensuring stability, continuity and effective functioning of Council, Executive Mayor Thamaha Dagma Mamanyoha announced the following Members of the Mayoral Committee:
Lucky Mohlala – MMC for Governance and Leader of Government Business
Nomsa Khandela – MMC for Finance
Baloyi NN – MMC for Local Economic Development
Mahomane MS – MMC for Roads and Transport
Shivambu BA – MMC for Community Services
Sefufi MH – MMC for Water and Sanitation
Makhananisa DM – MMC for Sports, Arts and Culture
Maloko ML – MMC for Technical Services
Mbhalati NJ – MMC for Agriculture
“The appointment of the Mayoral Committee is aimed at strengthening the collective political and administrative leadership of the Municipality and ensuring that the work of Council continues with focus and commitment,” said Municipality spokesperson Mildred Risaba.
“The Municipality remains committed to strengthening governance, improving service delivery, addressing the basic needs of communities and building on the achievements of the Fifth Council.
“Mopani District Municipality wishes the Executive Mayor and the newly appointed Mayoral Committee well as they undertake their responsibilities in service of the people of Mopani.”
