Colbert Mukwevho addresses rumours of going AWOL on his wedding
Legendary Limpopo Musician Dr Colbert Mukwevho has reacted angrily to rumours spreading on social media platforms that he did not pitch for his own wedding ceremony.
A video from the past weekend showing Dr Mukwevho’s bride, Julia, celebrating at their lobola ceremony without him in Madombidzha outside Louis Trichardt, has sparked reactions and speculation on social media.
Social media users have used the situation to mock the reggae musician and question why he could miss his own celebration.

However, Mukwevho has since addressed the situation, saying he could not attend the ceremony because of work commitments and that both families were aware of the circumstances.
He further urged people to stop making statements about matters they do not know, saying there is more to the situation than what has been portrayed online.
“There are videos spreading in social media of people who are getting involved in issues that do not concern them,” said Dr Mukwevho on the video.

“It’s not their issue and they don’t even have to say anything because when there is a wedding celebration, it’s between two families, not outsiders.
“So we, the two families, know what happened and that I was working. There is no one who doesn’t know from the two families,” he added.
“So please don’t go around spreading things you know nothing about because you must remove yourselves from things that have nothing to do with you. Your family issues are yours and our family issues are ours, it doesn’t need others,” he said before he was joined by his partner in the same video.”
