ANCYL Limpopo expresses disappointment over new cabinet snub
The ANCYL Limpopo has expressed its disappointment following the exclusion of their Provincial Chairperson Faith Sebopela, from the newly constituted Provincial Executive.
On Wednesday, 2 September, Limpopo Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba announced a cabinet reshuffle, with three MEC’s fired from their positions.
The MEC’s are Dieketseng Mashego [Health], Jerry Maseko [Sport, Arts and Culture and Violet Mathye [Transport and Community Safety].

The League had previously called for Premier Dr Ramathuba to reshuffle her cabinet and include its chairperson in the executive.
However, it looks like their call has been ignored as the new cabinet as the Premier announced her new cabinet without Sebopela.
“Her exclusion signals, in our view, a failure by the Movement to adequately recognize and integrate the role and aspirations of young people within the broader Mass Democratic Movement and society,” said provincial secretary Phineas Sebola.

“The ANCYL has consistently advocated for meaningful youth representation in structures of governance. Young people constitute a significant part of our population and remain central to the future of the African National Congress and the democratic project.
“The ANCYL Limpopo will therefore continue to engage and persuade the ANC to ensure that young people are meaningfully represented in the Provincial Cabinet and other key centres of decision-making.”
However, the League says the reshuffle is an attempt to strengthen the Provincial Executive, and they acknowledge the changes made by the Premier.
