Young Woman arrested for murder of a Mankweng businessman
A 19-year-old young woman Kagontle Moshibudi Sina Bopape (19), arrested in connection with the murder of 43-year-old businessman Tebogo Mothapo appeared before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court, on Monday.
Bopape is facing six charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit murder, murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of unlicensed ammunition and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The charges emanate from the murder of Mothapo, who was attacked and shot dead in Mankweng on 16 December 2025. She was arrested on Sunday, 30 August 2026, following an intelligence-driven operation conducted by a multidisciplinary team comprising the Provincial Investigation Unit, Provincial Tracking Team and Capricorn Tracing Team, assisted by an external law enforcement partner, Tshimollo Security and Investigations.
Her arrest brings to two the number of suspects arrested in connection with the murder. The first suspect, Osama Asad (27), a naturalised South African of Pakistani origin, was arrested on 20 July 2026 at Ga-Mothapo, Tjatjaneng, Limpopo.

Meanwhile, the matter against Osama Asad was also postponed to 01 September 2026 for the State to address on his bail application.
The matter against Bopape was postponed to 01 September 2026 to allow her to obtain legal aid.
