Traditional leaders receive new vehicles from Limpopo government

Five senior traditional leaders in Limpopo have received new vehicles from the Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs [CoGHSTA] to support them in carrying out their duties.

The vehicles were handed over by MEC Basikopo Makamu to Thovhele Mphaphuli, Thovhele Nesengani, Thovhele Tshivhase, Kgoshi Seleka and Kgoshi Pheeha.

Speaking during the handover, Makamu said the vehicles would enable traditional leaders to serve their communities more effectively and fulfil their daily responsibilities.

“Traditional leaders play a critical role in the lives of our people. They are partners in development, custodians of culture and key stakeholders in promoting social cohesion and resolving community disputes,” said Makamu.

The vehicle allocation forms part of a broader provincial programme aimed at providing transport support to recognised senior traditional leaders across Limpopo.
