Mother and three children killed in Modimolle shack fire incident
A mother and her three children aged three, 10 and 11 were killed after the shack in which they were sleeping was engulfed by flames in Modimolle, Limpopo on Monday evening.
The incident occurred on Monday night, claiming the lives of Ms Elisa Masalesa and her three children at Phagameng Extension 12. Authorities say the cause of the fire is being investigated.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality, Anna Mboweni, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the Masalesa family.

Accompanied by the Municipal ChiefWhip, Mokgadi Dayimane, Mayor Mboweni visited the bereaved family on Tuesday to offer comfort and support during this difficult time.
Speaking on behalf of the Municipal Council and the people of Modimolle-Mookgophong, Mayor Mboweni expressed profound shock and sadness over the heartbreaking tragedy.
“We are deeply saddened by this devastating loss. No family should ever have to endure such unimaginable pain,” she said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Masalesa family as they mourn the loss of their loved ones. We pray that they find strength and comfort during this difficult period,” said Mayor Mboweni.
The Mayor has appealed to businesses, community organisations, faith-based institutions, and members of the public to join hands in supporting the grieving family with burial arrangements and any other assistance they may require.
“The spirit of Ubuntu calls upon all of us to stand together in times of sorrow. We urge those who are able to assist to come forward and help the family give their loved ones a dignified farewell,” she added.
The Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality extends its sincere condolences to the Masalesa family and all those affected by this tragic incident.
