Limpopo-Born Phuti Mohafe Appointed Marumo Gallants Head Coach
Marumo Gallants FC have appointed Limpopo-born coach Phuti Mohafe as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Mohafe joins Gallants from Limpopo side Polokwane City, where he played a key role in the club’s recent progress in the #BetwayPrem.

The appointment further strengthens Gallants’ longstanding ties to Limpopo.
Although the club has been based in Bloemfontein in recent seasons, it was previously headquartered in Limpopo and remains closely associated with the province. The club’s owner, Abram Sello, is also from Limpopo.
In announcing the appointment, Gallants praised Mohafe’s coaching experience, leadership qualities and deep understanding of South African football, expressing confidence that he is well-positioned to lead the team into its next chapter

The club said management will support Mohafe during the transition as preparations for the new season gather pace. He takes over with the task of building on Gallants’ ambitions both on and off the field.
