Ga-Masemola’s Oratile Chases Hockey Dream
A young hockey star from Ga-Masemola is preparing to take her talent to the international stage after being selected to represent the Ravens Hockey team in a prestigious tournament in the Netherlands and Belgium later this year.
Fourteen-year-old Oratile Moshoane, who was born and raised in Ga-Masemola and Burgersfort and now lives in Marble Hall, has earned the opportunity through her dedication and outstanding performances in hockey. She currently plays for the Ravens Hockey team through her school, Ben Viljoen Hoërskool in Groblersdal.
Known for her passion and commitment to the sport, Oratile has continued to impress both coaches and teammates with her exceptional performances on the field.

Her hard work has now opened the door to international exposure, where she will compete against teams from across the world.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from 24 September to 2 October 2026 in the Netherlands and Belgium. However, the organisers require the necessary tour payments to be completed by the end of June 2026.
According to the tour cost breakdown, the total amount required per player is approximately R69 990, which includes the base tour price, travel insurance and airport taxes. The funds will assist with travel arrangements, accommodation, tournament participation and other related expenses for the international tour.
