Search for Woman [37] in vehicle finance fraud case
Police in Limpopo are requesting public assistance in tracing a 37-year-old, Cynthia Kgwete in an alleged fraud case to purchase a Ranger Double Cab and immediately removed a tracking device shortly after it left the dealership.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly posed as a client and applied for vehicle finance to purchase a Ford Ranger Double Cab.

During the application process, the suspect submitted false documentation and further misrepresented her employment and income details to secure approval from the bank.
The application was approved, and the bakkie was released to the suspect. It was also later discovered that a tracking device fitted to the vehicle was removed shortly after it left the dealership.

No instalments were paid to the bank and upon further investigation, the bank discovered it had been defrauded by the 37-year-old and reported the matter to police on 2 February 2026.
A case of fraud was registered, and investigations revealed that the suspect provided a false working address and residential address in Gauteng Province.
A warrant of arrest was issued and police are appealing to anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect as appearing on the photo, to urgently contact the Investigating Officer Sergeant Simon Tjatjie Kekana on 078 472 0505.
