Limpopo man abducted and forced to withdraw R900K
A Limpopo man was allegedly kidnapped and forced to transfer more than R900,000 to unknown suspects while staying at a guest house in Letebejane village, Sekhukhune.
The incident reportedly took place on 17 April 2026 at around 07:00.
According to police, the victim was with his girlfriend when they were confronted by three armed male suspects. The suspects allegedly pointed firearms at the couple and instructed the man to get into his Ford Ranger, which was parked on the premises.

The suspects, who had covered their faces, then drove him to an unknown location believed to be around Pretoria. There, he was forced to access his banking application and carry out multiple transactions.
On 23 April 2026, the suspects reportedly took the victim to a shopping mall in the Hammanskraal area, where he was instructed to enter a bank branch and continue making further transfers.
Police say the victim was threatened throughout the ordeal and warned not to alert authorities. The suspects allegedly claimed that his girlfriend was being held hostage and would be killed if he sought help. Acting under duress, the victim transferred more than R900,000.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim’s Ford Ranger, based on tracking data, is believed to be in Harare, Zimbabwe.
A case of kidnapping and extortion has been opened, and investigations are ongoing.
