Shebeshxt case transferred to Regional court
Lekompo artist Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as ”Shebeshxt”, had appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court, where his case was officially transferred to Polokwane Regional Court.
Chauke is facing multiple serious charges, including attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievious bodily harm, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and malicious damage to property.

The matter has been postponed to 15 May 2026, when he is expected to appear before the Regional Court. He will remain in custody until his next court proceedings.
During proceedings, it emerged that the defence had intended to file a new bail application based on new facts. However, this process could not proceed as the senior public prosecutor and judge who previously handled the bail application was unavailable.
In a new development, there has been a substitute with the legal representatives in Chauke’s matter. Attorney Michael Khumalo has taken over the case, replacing his long-time lawyer Lot Ramusi.

Khumalo has indicated his intention to submit a new bail application, citing new evidence.
The case continues to draw public attention as it moves to the next stage of legal proceedings. The accused still remains in custody.
