U-turn on planned Taxi shutdown in Limpopo
SANTACO Limpopo has confirmed that the previously planned taxi shutdown scheduled for Wednesday, 25 March 2026, in the Capricorn region has been officially cancelled.
All taxi operations will continue as normal, and commuters can proceed with their daily travel arrangements without disruption.
The decision to call off the shutdown follows engagements with relevant stakeholders, with a focus on maintaining uninterrupted transport services for communities.

Taxi operators, drivers, and members have been urged to resume and uphold regular services while further discussions continue to address outstanding concerns through proper channels.
**PUBLIC NOTICE**

“The decision to cancel the tools-down has been reached after careful consideration of ongoing stakeholder engagements, the public interest, and the need to maintain uninterrupted transportation services for communities relying on taxi transport,” said SANTACO Limpopo Chairperson Lesiba Ngwepe.

“Authorities and regional leadership will continue dialogues to address outstanding concerns through lawful, constructive channels.
“Regional committees are urged to continue consultations with members to resolve outstanding issues and to explore alternatives that support both service delivery and worker welfare.
