Final call for liquor license renewals in Limpopo
Liquor licence holders in Limpopo have been urged to renew their licences before 31 March 2026, warning that no extensions or grace period will be granted.
The Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism [LEDET] says all active licences will expire at the end of March, and businesses that fail to comply will be forced to shut down from 1 April 2026.

Businesses that fail to renew in time will be forced to shut down operations from 1 April 2026. Operating without a valid license will result in establishments being declared illegal, commonly referred to as shebeens, and could lead to serious legal consequences.
The department warned that anyone found behind a cash point in an unlicensed venue will face immediate arrest for selling illegal alcohol.
**PUBLIC NOTICE**

In a joint effort with the South African Police Service, the department will conduct raids across all sectors including breweries, liquor stores, and restaurants, regardless of whether they are located in villages or cities.
