Learner raped while returning from extra lessons in Seshego
A 17-year-old Grade 10 learner was allegedly raped by a 22-year-old man who offered her a lift while she was returning from extra lessons at a school outside Seshego, Limpopo, on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
According to police reports, the learner had attended extra lessons at a school outside Seshego. Afterwards, she and a friend were dropped off at Seshego Plaza, where they met other learners and decided to buy food in a nearby village.

The group then accepted a lift from the suspect, who was known to them. He dropped the other passengers off along the way, as they all lived in the same suburb in Polokwane.

However, he kept the victim in the vehicle and allegedly drove to a park in Seshego, where the rape incident happened.

After the incident, he allegedly drove her to Seshego Plaza and offered her money in exchange for her silence. The victim refused the offer, contacted her relatives, and was taken to Seshego Police Station, where a rape case was opened. The suspect was swiftly arrested while at a local car wash.
He is expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 March 2026
