Grow programme opens doors for artisan entrepreneurs
Artisan entrepreneurs in South Africa’s construction sector are being encouraged to apply for the Artisan Venture Hub’s Grow Programme, a new initiative aimed at helping small businesses expand and access funding opportunities.
The 10-month programme, delivered in partnership with the FEM Education Foundation and supported by Allan Gray Makers, will run from mid-April 2026 to February 2027.
It focuses on strengthening artisan-owned enterprises through structured business development support, mentorship and operational guidance.

According to Seth Mulli, Programme Director at Allan Gray Makers, the initiative is designed to help entrepreneurs refine their systems, improve efficiency and build long-term profitable businesses.
Participants will also gain access to market opportunities and potential funding through the Imara Artisan SMME Fund.
**PUBLIC NOTICE**

The programme targets qualified artisans such as bricklayers, plumbers, electricians and carpenters who run construction-related businesses.

Eligible applicants must have owner-managed enterprises operating for at least two years, employ a minimum of two full-time staff members and generate an annual turnover between R600,000 and R5 million.
Businesses must be formally registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission and operate in Gauteng, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga or Limpopo.
