Limpopo Education Department confirms a normal school day
The Limpopo Department of Education has urged parents and guardians, particularly those in the Capricorn South Education District, to regard today, Monday, 02 March 2026, as a normal school day.
The confirmation follows the circulation of a declaration of a ‘No School Day’ by a group calling itself the Limpopo Scholar Transport Alliance on social media platforms.

It was further spread that no Scholar Transport will operate the whole day as they’ll be visiting the offices of the Limpopo Department of Transport and Safety demanding the issuing of permits to continue their operations.
However, the department has assured parents and learners that systems are in place for teaching and learning to proceed without interruptions.
“Parents and guardians are urged to reject these disruptive tactics and to partner with government in protecting the children’s future,” said department spokesperson Isaac Mahlangu.

“Furthermore, the Department reminds all parents who make use of private scholar transport to verify that the operators are properly registered and possess the necessary permits to transport learners.
“The Department of Education’s official Scholar Transport programme is available for all learners allocated to schools in the Province and is expected to operate without any disruptions.”
