Shebeshxt urgent bail application dismissed

Lekompo artist Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, has had his urgent bail application dismissed.

The ruling was handed down on Friday, 9 January 2026, by Acting Judge Natalie Burnet in the High Court, Limpopo.

Shebeshxt’s legal team had approached the High Court on an urgent basis on 31 December 2025, seeking to overturn an earlier decision that denied him bail. Judgment in the matter had been reserved before being delivered today.
